LG presents two premium IPS monitors at IFA 2012-- the 29-inch EA93 "cinematic display" and the professional 27-inch EA83.

The EA93 handles resolutions of up to 2560 x 1080 and has an unusual 21:9 aspect ratio. LG claims it displays 100% defined sRGB colour space while delivering 300nits brightness, making it ideal for both entertainment and professional situations.

Logitech upgrades its earlier take on living room conferencing with the TV Cam HD-- a single device with built-in Skype hooking up your customers' HDTVs without the need for a PC.

It has all processing power required to not only run Skype, but also send wide-angle 720p footage over wifi or ethernet connections. As the company says, all it needs is an available HDMI port, an internet connection and a Skype account.

Are humble soap bubbles key for the ultra-thin displays of the future? Scientists from the University of Tokyo and Carnegie Mellon University say so,  following their developments in bubble-based "colloidal displays."

A "colloidal display" consists of the surface of a soapy bubble (or "membrane screen"), over which a projector beams images. In this case the bubble is made out a complex colloid solution, and is far stronger than anything from your bubble bath or dish washer.
