Fusion Garage Returns to Tablets

Fusion Garage-- maker of the stillborn JooJoo tablet-- announces its return to the mobile device business with a tablet and a smartphone, the Grid 10 and Grid 4.

Powering both devices is Fusion Garage's Android-based GridOS, which the company says "reinvents touch computing from the ground up" with a completely gesture-based interface.

Pierre Cardin Takes on Tablet

Your more fashionable customers might want Pierre Cardin for their next tablet-- the haute couture designer announces the PC-7006 Android tablet.

WIMM Labs believes the future will come in small packages -- it unveils the WIMM platform, a miniature computer currently available in a limited number of developer preview kits.

The result of a partnership with Foxconn, the preview kit (known as the WIMM One) is a 1" slab packing a reflective colour touchscreen (160 x 160 resolution), wifi, Bluetooth and GPS radios, vibrate motor, accelerometer and magnetometer.

Asus' Transformer Transforms Again

Asus Chairman Jonney Shih says the company is working on a second version of its dock-able Eee Pad Transformer, according to Forbes.

No details on either hardware or launch date are available as yet, other than Shih saying the device will be "impressive".

Forbes speculates the Transformer 2 will carry nVidia's recently announced quad-core Tegra 3 chip, aka Kal-El.
