It runs last year's Android (version 2.2) and comes in a 7" form factor, complete with a Cortex A-8 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage (expandable via Micro SD cards) and built-in wifi.

WIMM Labs believes the future will come in small packages -- it unveils the WIMM platform, a miniature computer currently available in a limited number of developer preview kits.

The result of a partnership with Foxconn, the preview kit (known as the WIMM One) is a 1" slab packing a reflective colour touchscreen (160 x 160 resolution), wifi, Bluetooth and GPS radios, vibrate motor, accelerometer and magnetometer.

Asus Chairman Jonney Shih says the company is working on a second version of its dock-able Eee Pad Transformer, according to Forbes.

No details on either hardware or launch date are available as yet, other than Shih saying the device will be "impressive".

Forbes speculates the Transformer 2 will carry nVidia's recently announced quad-core Tegra 3 chip, aka Kal-El.
