2.5 GbE USB Dongles from Club 3D

Dutch PC accessory maker Club 3D announces a pair of 2.5 GbE dongles, one featuring a USB-A interface and the other USB-C, allowing customers to add wired ethernet to PCs lacking an internal GbE controller.

The CAC-1420 (USB-A to 2.5 GbE) and CAC-1520 (USB-C to 2.5 GbE) are exactly what it says on the tin. They feature an RJ-45 connector on one side and a USB 3.1 interface on the other, and are compatible with Windows 8/10 PCs and Macs running on OS X 10.6 to 10.14. Being USB-powered no external power adapter is required.

The docking station supports two extra displays of either the HDMI or DisplayPort variety, while adding x6 USB 3.0 ports, ethernet and audio ports to connect any device to the laptop. Compatible with Windows PCs and laptops, it offers x2 HDMI and x2 DisplayPort outputs for mirroring or extending a desktop to up to two external monitors.

Corsair proposes a means for using a PC while seated on the couch-- the K83 Wireless, a laptop-style 76-key keyboard complete with wireless connectivity, a joystick, two shoulder buttons and a trackpad with Windows 10 gesture support.

The K83 Wireless features ultra-low-profile scissor key switches, making it slim and light. Of course, the joystick is the most unusual addition, but should be useful for game control, especially when combined with the two shoulder buttons. Customers can also use the joystick as a mouse replacement, and the WASD keys are specially painted.

Cooler Master Intros MK850 Keyboard

Cooler Master claims the MK850 is a mechanical keyboard with a first-- it features Cherry MX switches with analogue pressure-sensitive technology, allowing for "unparalleled control in even the most demanding PC games."

Dubbed "Aimpad," the technology adds IR sensors to the Cherry MX switches in the QWERASDF key cluster. According to Cooler Master, the IR sensors "sense the entire 4mm range of a key press versus competitor analogue keyboards that are only capable of measuring 2mm of analogue movement and do not utilize Cherry MX switches." Or, in short, the pressure sensitivity allows for smooth increments in the control of speed, yaw, pitch and the like, similar to what is offered by analogue joysticks.

Logitech Brings Back MX518 Gaming Mouse

Logitech announces a comeback of a classic gaming mouse-- the MX518, now featuring a HERO 16K sensor and a a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M-based SoC within the same ambidextrous design from the original 2005 rodent.

The HERO sensor provides up to 16000 DPI resolution, up from the 1600 DPI of the first MX518, and users can either customise own DPI settings or scroll through 5 pre-selected settings (400, 800, 1600, 3200 and 6400) using the buttons above and below the mouse wheel. Logitech says the mouse is rated for up to 40 G maximum acceleration, as well as for up to 400 IPS (inches per minute) maximum acceleration.
