Peripheral maker Azio takes to Computex 2019 to present a unique-looking keyboard-- the Iris, a mechanical keyboard featuring analog dials and switches inspired by vintage camera viewfinders.

The Iris comes in separately sold keyboard and numpad units designed to stand next to each other on the desk. Both feature CherryMX switches and RGB lighting underneath the deck, and connect to PCs using either an included wireless USB dongle or Bluetooth. The small knob on the top left allows one to choose between the choice of wireless connectivity, while a USB-C port takes care of charging duties.

Viper Gaming, the gaming peripheral offshoot of memory maker Patriot, announces a pair of gaming mice-- the V550 and V551, both featuring PixArt Optical sensors and RGB lighting.

The V550 offers an adjustable 5000 DPI optical sensor within an ambidextrous, while the 6200 DPI sensor inside the right-handed V551 can reach up to 12000 when using Viper software. This is due to the mouse tracking at 220 IPS with a polling rate of 1000Hz, allowing for the most sensitive response times.

Cooler Master launches a first wireless Bluetooth mechanical keyboard-- the SK621, an ultra-compact 60% keyboard featuring low-profile Cherry MX switches within a plastic frame topped with a brushed aluminium plate.

First seen at CES 2019, the SK621 carries linear Cherry MX switches, a low-profile variant on the Cerry MX Red switch but with an actuation point of 45 cN lacking an audible click. It connects to PCs using either Bluetooth 4.0 or an included detachable USB-C to USB-A cable one can also use for charging duties.

Microsoft looks to further improve on the sensation of manipulating virtual objects in VR spaces through what it calls TORC (TOuch Rigid Controller), a compact haptic controller promising "high levels of dexterity and compliance perception."

The result of work at Microsoft Research Redmond, the TORC controller is a rigid shell with no visible moving parts. It is designed to simulate the sensation of holding an object using the thumb and two fingers, and allows users to freely move the thumb on the surface parallel to the plane of the two to rotate the virtual object. In addition, it vibrates to let the fingers feel the texture and "pseudo-compliance" of the object.
