The Mouse Pad With a Built-in Wireless Charger

The MousePad+ is a fancy-looking wool fibre mouse pad with an interesting addition-- a built-in wireless charging pad complete with Quick Charge 2.0 fast charging support.

Developed by New York-based design studio Takieso Graft Design, the MousePad+ has a felt base with wool fibre on top for the portion housing the mouse. Meanwhile the wireless charger is clad in brown, black or blue leather and is portable, since users can simply wrap the mouse pad around it before tying the bundle with the included USB cable.

EVGA Z10 Keyboard (Finally) Gets Release

EVGA releases a first mechanical gaming keyboard-- the Z10, a keyboard first seen back at CES 2015, now released as an actual product complete with upper central mini LCD display.

Claiming to be designed "with enthusiasts in mind," the Z10 is a full-size keyboard with a macro key column on the left, QWERTY array with F-keys above, direction pad cluster with page navigation keys and numpad. The keys feature blue or brown mechanical Kailh switches, and are illuminated with red LEDs with adjustable lighting zones and behaviours.

Roccat Intros Horde Aimo

Roccat launches the Horde Aimo-- a gaming-optimised keyboard promising a combination of the strengths of mechanical and membrane keys the company calls "membranical."

According to Roccat, membranical keys are more accurate in terms of actuation point compared to other rubber dome keys, allowing for fast yet silent (no clicking) typing. The keys are "mid-height," with an actuation speed of 7.8ms for the regular keys and 5ms for five low-profile macro keys. In addition, the keys sit in a laptop-style island layout to resist dirt.

Logitech announces the G560 PC speaker system and G513 mechanical keyboard-- a pair of peripherals aimed at gamer customers featuring "intelligent" Lightsync RGB lighting technology.

According to the company, Lightsync automatically synchronises the lighting (thus the name) with a number of popular games, blasting lights to match in-game explosions, approaching enemies, damage taken, healing received, new worlds visited and more. Current games with Lightsync support include  Battlefield 1, Civilisation VI, Counter Strike: GO, Discord, Dota 2, Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood, Fortnite, Grand Theft Auto V, Killing Floor 2, Metronomicon, Tom Clancy’s: The Division and Total War: Warhammer II.

The Intuos upgrade comes in two sizes-- small and medium. Startup Made in Mind claims to have a slim charging solution for all devices, including laptops-- the Mu One, a USB-C charger able to support USB Power Delivery with maximum voltage reaching 20V.

The Mu one can be used with all devices, including USB-C laptops such as the latest Apple MacBooks. It is the brainchild of Min-Kyu Choi, the creator of a foldable USB-enabled UK plug, and comes with interchangeable plugs, a fully-foldable UK plug, a hinged European plug and a low-profile US plug. The result is a charger just 14mm thick when folded and weighing 80g.

A Headphone Jack-Connected SonarPen Stylus

Hong Kong-based startup Greenbulb takes to Kickstarter to launch a lower-cost alternative to the Apple Pencil-- the SonarPen, an iPad stylus users connect to the tablet via 3.5mm headphone jack.

Compatible with any iPad released after 2011, the SonarPen uses an interesting means to transmit pressure data to the iPad. It essentially turns pressure information into sound waves, which in turn are carried by the audio cable. The iPad then interprets the audio signals back into digital information.
