MSI launches the MECH 2-- a series of graphics cards based on the AMD Radeon Polaris chipset offering what the company describes as a new thermal design allowing for higher core and memory speeds.
The cooling comes through TORX Fan 2.0, an update of the MSI fan technology able to generate 22% more air pressure for better cooling performance at reduced noise levels. It consists of two fans sitting on top of a "huge" heatsink threaded with 6mm copper SU heatpipes. In turn the heat pipes have flat under-sections in direct contact with a solid nickel-plated copper baseplate. Finally, the cooling structure is attached to the the GPU itself via "Premium Thermal Compound."
