Hong Kong-based portable PC maker GDP announces what it claims is the "world's smallest handheld gaming laptop"-- the Win Max, an update on the 2018 Win 2 featuring better specs within a sleeker design.

Like other machines in the GDP Win series, the Win Max is a Windows 10 laptop with built-in gaming controls, namely a pair of clickable analogue sticks, d-pad, four face buttons and shoulder triggers. It also features an 8-inch 1280 x 800 resolution touchscreen able to push up to 500 nits brightness with 90% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut, while the miniature keyboard is backlit and includes a touchpad.

Moving on to the internals, the Win Max carries an Intel Core i5-1035G7, a 10th gen 10nm Ice Lake processor with 4 cores/8 threads running at 3.7GHz. Powering game visuals is the integrated Intel Iris Plus 940 graphics chipset, and the machine also includes 16GB LPDDR4X RAM and 512GB NVMe SSD. Keeping all cool are a pair of fans and heatpipes, and GDP says the 65W Super Mini GaN charger is smaller than the charger included with the Surface Pro 7. Connectivity comes through x1 USB-A, x1 Thunderbolt 3, x1 USB 3.1, x1 USB-C ports and x1 HDMI 2.0b ports, plus Bluetooth 5.0 and Wifi 6.

GDP is still to announce when the Win Max will be available.
