Seagate announces a pair of additions to the flagship FireCuda line of consumer storage-- the FireCuda 520 PCIe 4.0 SSD and the FireCuda Gaming Dock with 4TB of HDD storage and an NVMe M.2 expansion slot.

Firecuda 520 SSDThe FIreCuda 520 is the fastest SSD from Seagate to date. It offers plug-and-play compatibility with all PCIe 4.0 motherboards, and features a Phison E16 reference design using Toshiba/Kionxia BiCS 96-layer 3D TLC NAND flash memory. The design lacks a heatspreader or heatsink, making it ideal for motherboards with own M.2 cooling.

Meanwhile the FireCuda Gaming Dock is aimed to provide additional external storage, as well as a Thunderbolt 3 accessory dock. It connects to PCs via single cable, and includes a 4TB 3.4-inch HDD and a PCIe 3.0 NVMe M.2 expansion slot for an optional SSD upgrade. The accessory dock component offers a DisplayPort 1.4 connector, ethernet port, 3.5mm audio-in and audio-out jacks, x4 USB 3.1 ports and a USB 3.1 charge port. Being a piece of gaming hardware LEDs come as standard, with control via Seagate Toolkit software.

The FireCuda 520 is available now in 500GB, 1TB and 2TB capacities. The Gaming Dock should ship by end November 2019.
