Two 4K Displays for Asus ZenBook Pro Duo

Asus takes on the dual-screen laptop at Computex 2019 with the ZenBook Pro Duo-- a machine featuring not one, but two 4K displays in the shape of a main 15.6-inch OLED panel and a secondary IPS "ScreenPad Plus" above the keyboard.

Zenbook Pro DuoThe second display is set directly above the keyboard, and is the same width and half the width as the main display. In other words it is something of an overpowered MacBook Pro Touch Bar, since it is touch-enabled and allows for dedicated shortcuts and function buttons for specific apps. It also doubles as either a regular display or even two, since users can split it into two small 16:9 windows.

Interestingly the keyboard is a full-size number, and comes complete with function key row. The large touchpad set on the right doubles as a numpad, with light-up etchings showing the keys in question.

As for the rest of the notebook, the ZenBook Pro Duo offers up to an 8-core Intel Core i9-9980HK processor, Nvidia RTX 2060 GPU, up to 32GB RAM and a 1TB SSD. Wifi 6 support comes as standard, and connectivity includes a Thunderbolt 3 port, x2 USB-A ports, HDMI port and a headphone jack. Four far-field microphones allow support for both Windows Cortana and Amazon Alexa.

The ZenBook Pro Duo also comes in a less high-end version-- the ZenBook Duo, a 14-inch version featuring HD displays (instead of 4K), 6-core Core i7-9750H CPU and a GeForce MX250 GPU. Both will be available from Q3 2019.
