Lenovo Brings ThinkBook Back

The CITE 2019 show in Shenzhen, China sees Lenovo bring the ThinkBook range back with the ThinkBook S, a pair of models in 13- and 14-inch displays in minimalist business-style machined aluminium bodies.

Lenovo Thinkbook SFirst spotted by news site Notebook Italia, the ThinkBook S machines appear to be an update on the previous-gen IdeaPad laptop line. Technically dubbed the ThinkBook S540-13-IWL and the ThinkBook S540-14-IWL, the two notebooks respectively feature 13.3- and 14.1-inch 1920 x 1080 resolution IPS displays paired with Intel Core i7-8565U (Whiskey Lake) processors, 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD storage. Select SKUs also feature AMD Radeon 540X graphics.

The two laptops also include a Lenovo Accutype keyboard, trackpad, 720p webcam with a privacy shutter and IR sensors for Windows Hello facial recognition, Harman-branded stereo speakers, microphone array, x3 USB-A ports, x1 USB-C port, x1 HDMI output and a 3.5mm jack. In total the laptops weigh 1.5kg and have thickness reaching 15.9mm.

Lenovo is still to officially announce when the ThinkBook S laptops will hit the market, although some retailers are mentioning a May 2019 date.
