Asus launches the ROG Gladius II Wireless-- a gaming rodent customers can use in either wired or wireless modes, thanks to the addition of a dual-wireless interface (2.4GHz RF and Bluetooth).

Asus Gladius IIFirst seen back at Computex 2018, the wireless version of the Gladius II is very similar to the wired original, with the other difference other than wireless capability being an increase in weight (the result of adding an 800mAh battery). It carries an updated 16000dpi and 400ips optical sensor for "exceptional" performance," while a ROG-exclusive socket design allows easy replacement of the included Omron D2FC-F-K switches.

The dual-wireless interface promises compatibility with "almost any laptop or PC." The 2.4GHz connection requires an Asus USB dongle (included), but promises latencies of just 1ms together with 90m range. Bluetooth remains an option in case one forgets or loses the dongle, and a dedicated button allows one to switch wireless connection modes.

Being a piece of gaming hardware, the Gladius II carries LED lighting on 2 zones, the mouse wheel and the body. Asus warns the lighting drains battery power, and the mouse allows for 24 hours of play on a single charge only if the lighting is off. Charging takes place via micro USB connector located on the front.

The wireless Gladius II should ship sometime on Q3 2018.
