Dell presents updates on the Inspiron, XPS and Vostro laptop lineups at IFA 2018, together with the Dell 27 (S2719DC), an ultrathin 27-inch monitor equipped with USB-C connectivity.

The Inspiron portfolio sees the addition of the 7000 2-in-1 family-- devices available in 13-, 15- and 17-inch sizes, all with brushed aluminium bodies, up to Intel 8th generation U series processors, Alexa support, optional 4K UHD displays and thermal flow cooling. The 13- and 15-inch models have 3-sided narrow bezels thanks to a 2.7mm webcam, while the 15- and 17-inch models get optional Nvidia GeForce MX150 graphics.
Another Inspiron 2-in-1 line seen at IFA is the 14 5000 series, with the 5481 and 5482 models offering Intel 8th gen U series processors, optional Nvidia GeForce MX130 discrete graphics and, in the case of the 5482, USB-C connectivity. The 5481 includes x1 HDMI port, SD card reader, x2 USB 3.1 ports, X1 USB 2.0 port and Windows 10 in S mode (select regions only).
The Inspiron line also includes what Dell says is its first premium Chromebook-- the Chromebook 14, a 2-in-1 device with a 14-inch FHD display, Intel Core i3-8130U CPU, up to 128GB eMMC flash storage, USB-C ports and backlit keyboard in an aluminium, narrow bezel design.
On the flagship XPS line Dell shows off its smallest laptop, the XPS 13. Now updated with an Intel 8 gen i3 CPU, it is available in a Developer Edition with running on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. The XPS 13 is also available as a 2-in-1 equipped with an UltraSharp QHD+ InfnityEdge touchscreen.
The Vostro small business laptop portfolio is expanded with the 14 and 15 5000, equipped with 8th gen Intel Core processors, USB-C connectivity, (optional) single-sign-on fingerprint reader and hardware TPM (Trusted Platform Module) 2.0 commercial-grade protection. A Peak Shift mode reduces power consumption by switching the system to battery power during certain times of day, allowing for more efficient operation.
The final product is the aforementioned Dell 27 USB-C Ultrathin, an HDR monitor with up to 600 nits peak brightness, VESA-certified DisplayHDR 600 and Corning Iris Glass light-guide plate (LGP) technology. USB-C provides power, video and data from a single source, and a 5mm profile ensures it fits on any desk.
