Chinese vendor Chuwi waits less than 2 months to launch an update on the Hi 9 gaming tablet-- the Hi9 Air, an upgrade featuring a MediaTek Helio X20 processor and a better camera at an entry-level price point.
Like the Hi 9, the Hi9 Air is a 10.1-inch tablet with a 2560x1600 resolution IPS display featuring 0.5-inch bezels and OGS lamination to reduce reflections. It runs on Android 8.0 (aka Oreo) and carries an 8000mAh battery promising up to 10 hours of use on a single charge. The Helio X20 processor is not flagship-level, but it does have A72 cores running at 2.1GHz, together with A53 cores running at 1.85GHz and 1.4GHz.
Further tech details include 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, 13MP rear-/5MP front-facng cameras and connectivity via Cat 6 LTE modem with support for all 4G LTE bands and older 3G and 2G bands. Said connectivity comes through dual-SIM slot, just in case customers want to make phone calls with an oversized device.
The Hi9 Air should be available from April 2018.
