Connected Data announces a new version of the portable Drobo Mini prosumer storage solution-- the Drobo Mini with SSD, a self-explanatory upgrade configured with four 2.5-inch SSD drive bays.

Drobo Mini It connects via Thunderbolt or USB 3.0, and carries an mSATA accelerator to deliver what the company says is up to 80% more performance compared to a Mini configured with traditional HDDs.

Like all Drobo storage products it also features automatic self-repair in case of multiple SSD drive failure and batter backup for protection in case of sudden power outage.

“A Drobo Mini configured with SSD drives allows users to cost effectively balance performance and capacity," Connected Data says. "Owners can start with the capacity a project needs today, and add capacity as required, without disruption and without breaking the bank.”

The Drobo Mini with SSD is available now in 1, 2 or 4TB capacities.
