Joel Silver, president and founder of the Imaging Science Foundation (ISF), is one of the industry’s rock stars…who frequently writes articles for leading journals and also consults for organisations such as CNN, Epson, Bose, the BBC and many more.
But less known is that one of the main reasons he’s now an industry rock star is because of his work in IT: Joel is the co-inventor of the patented Microsoft Media Centre Calibration Wizard now in over 111,000,000 PCs.
Now CEDIA joins with the Imaging Science Foundation (ISF) to offer a course on delivering professional services for accurate and dependable electronic imaging.
Hosted at the Panasonic Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, UK, the 3-day course will run from 17th – 19th April 2012.
On day one the course will cover a wide range of curriculum including 3D mathematical imaging and an introduction to colour management as well as basic video processing and HD and SD encoding.
On day 2 & 3, students will move on to ISF Level 2 which will provide a more hands-on approach to ISF software guided solutions for advanced calibration. It also looks at system parameters including: EEDID/HDMI verification, 3D colour management and system building diagnosis.

The course suits AV dealers, installers and distributors working in commercial, leisure and public building projects (as well as HDTV manufacturing product managers, gaming creators and broadcast executives).
Available to CEDIA members for £1100 +VAT and to non-members at £1250 +VAT. Costs include day time meals and refreshments.
