Jolicloud launches its first netbook, the Jolibook. The company's cloud OS (Jolicloud 1.1) powers the device, of course.
The OS is built on Linux, with an HTML5-based front end on top of the Chromium browser. It runs web services (Youtube, Facebook, Gmail, etc) as apps from desktop and connects directly to cloud storage services (Flickr, Soundcloud, Box.net).
Users can download a variety other apps as required.
It is also fully integrated with Facebook Connect, so users can check on their friends directly from desktop.
On the hardware side, the netbook carries a 10.1" WSVGA TFT display, dual core Intel Atom 1.5GHz processor, 1GB RAM and 250GB HDD. Jolicloud claims battery life is over 7 hours.
