Google Admits Android Not Tablet-Ready

Android isn't being used by Google itself on any tablets.

Google's director of mobile products Hugo Barra confirms the platform is not yet optimised for iPad rivals.

Samsung's Galaxy Tab runs on Android, as do devices demonstrated at IFA 2010.

However Barra describes the Galaxy Tab as a larger phone rather than a tablet.

This announcement suggests the first breed of Android devices may yield to another ready to take on Apple's tablet.
