Ingram Micro promotes current president and COO Alain Monie to CEO, replacing Gregory M. Spierkel.
Spierkel was CEO since 2005, and will assist the company in the management transition until April 15 2012. In a company statement, Spierkel says he wants to spend more time with his family.
Monie will retain his position as president. He first joined Ingram Micro in January 2003 as executive VP, and left the company to become April Management CEO in 2010 before returning to Ingram Micro in November 2011. He is also a member of the board of directors at Amazon.com.
