The Strix Arion chassis is compatible with M.2-2280 and smaller drives feature a PCIe 3.0 interface and no pre-installed heat spreader. Construction is in aluminium, with thermal pads taking care of heat dissipation and consistent performance. It is bus-powered, and while it uses a USB-C interface the package includes a USB-C to USB-C as well as a USB-C-to-USB-A cable to ensure compatibility with as many systems as possible.

Installation promises to be tool-free, and while Asus does not give performance numbers it can theoretically feature up to 1.25GB/s throughput, faster than any external HDD or USB flash drives. Meanwhile USB 3.2 gen 2 connectivity offers transfers speeds of up to 10Gbps. Being a ROG product, the Strix Arion also includes RGB lighting, and supports Aura Sync software for compatibility with other Asus components.

Asus is still to tell when the Strix Arion hits the market.
