MSI announces one of the first small form factor (SFF) PCs featuring a Coffee Lake CPU-- the Vortex G25, a slim followup to the previous Vortex G65 offering a slimmer redesigned chassis.

Vortex G25Whereas the G65 had a cylindrical design reminiscent of the 2013 Mac Pro, the G25 keeps things more traditional with an rectangular appearance more akin to a games console. It carries up to an Intel Core i7-8100 processor, 16G DDR4 RAM, 256GB M.2 SSD, 1TB HDD, GeForce GTX 1070 graphics and 802.11ac wifi.

Connectivity comes through two USB 3.1 Type-C ports (one is Gen 1 and the other is Gen 2), four USB 3.0 Type-A ports, two HDMI ports, S/PDIF, and separate headphone and microphone ports.

The chassis measures 330 x 43 x 279mm and offers 2.5l capacity. MSI says the design allows for some upgradability (at least of the SSD, HDD and memory) since the pull-ring slotted screws allow customers to remove the top cover.

The Vortex G25 ships by end October 2017.
