AMD presents its rival to high-end Nvidia graphics cards such as the GTX 1080 and 1070-- Radeon RX Vega, featuring Vega GPU architecture able to handle the !evolving complexity and visual demands of today's games."

Radeon RXlRadeon RX Vega cards come in two flavours, RX Vega 64 and RX Vega 56. The RX Vega 64 is the higher-end option, with 64 compute units, 1247MHz base clock, 1547MHz boost clock and 8GB HBM2 memory. The result, AMD says, is a card able to power a 5K display via single cable.

Such a powerful card requires plenty of power, and as such it needs 295W (more than the 180W TDP of the GTX 1080). However it does reach performance reaching 12.7 TFLOPs, and supports the growing ecosystem of AMD FreeSync-compatible curved monitors.

On the other hand the RX Vega 56 is the equivalent of the GTX 1070, with 56 compute units, 1156MHz base clock, 1471MHz boost clock and 8GB HBM2 RAM allowing for 10.5 TFLOPS of performance.

AMD also promises the cards feature "exceptional premium design," with select models coming complete with a satin-brushed aluminium shroud, anodised aluminium backplate, customisable GPU tach meter and "iconic" LED lighting. Air-cooled models feature an isothermic vapour chamber, while liquid-cooled versions carry a high-efficiency pump, zero-band radius tubing and a Nidec Gentle Typhoon fan.

RX Vega graphics cards should hit the market from August 2017. Also available are packs with a discount price on the 34-inch Samsung CF791 curved monitor and select Ryzen 7 1800X processor and 370X motherboard combos.
