Palit Microsystems announces what is possibly the first GTX 1050 Ti graphics card with passive cooling-- the Palit GeForce GTX 1050 Ti KalmX.
According to the company, the KalmX allows customers to play modern games at "full 1080p HD @ 60fps" while enjoying a "silent 0dB gaming environment." The card does this through a unique cooler, with chunky conducting metal construction connected directly to the CPU via copper base. Twin nickel-plated heat pipes pierce the copper block, bend round and thread through many nickel-plated fins.
An included ThunderMaster program provides means to monitor the GPU and boost performance accordingly.
The result is a card somewhat larger than normal-- the KalmX is 182mm long and 142mm tall, 30mm taller than the Palit take on an actively cooled GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, the Dual. However the specs remain identical, with a 1260MHz GPU base clock (1392MHz in boost mode), 3500MHz memory clock (DDR 7000MHz), 4GB GDDR5 RAM on a 128-bit bus, 768 CUDA cores and 75W max power draw. Connectivity comes through HDMI 2.0, dual-link DVI and DisplayPort.
Palit does not say when the KalmX ships, but it should start soon enough.
