In a bid to differentiate its product portfolio Dell launches a variety of tablets, laptops, all-in-one (AIO) PCs and monitors at Computex 2014, all promising innovative form factors ideal for both work and play.

Dell computex“The Dell Venue tablets and Inspiron 2-in-1s are designed to be essential companions to power projects, provide entertainment, and share meaningful moments with family and friends,” the company claims.

New Dell tablets come in two Android-powered flavours-- the Venue 7 and 8. The Venue 7 features a 1280 x 800 display, while the Venue 8 has a 1920 x 1200 display and wireless charging capability.

Both are among the first devices running on the latest Intel Atom processors (aka Merrifield) and promise battery lives of up to 10 hours.

Dell also offers a variety of companion accessories, include a Cradle dock for the Venue 8, a simple Tablet Case and a self-explanatory Bluetooth Keyboard Folio.

Coming in 2 flavors are the 2-in-one PCs-- the Inspiron 11 and 13, both with a 360-degree hinge allowing rotation between laptop, easel, tent and tablet modes. Further features include Intel Bay Trail processors, either b/g/n or 802.11ac wifi, an HDMI 1.4a port and a media card reader.

Interestingly customers have the choice of either Ubuntu or Windows 8 as OS for the two touchscreen devices.

Another Inspiron on show is the Inspiron 20, an entry-level AIO PC that is essentially an oversized (19.5-inch) tablet.

Also seen at Computex are three new Dell monitors-- the 27-, 23- and 21.5-inch UltraSharp monitors. All feature resolutions of up to 1920 x 1080, 178-degree/178-degree viewing angles and a built-in 2MP webcam.
