Samsung announces the CF591 and CF390-- a pair of curved monitors featuring FreeSync Over HDMI, making them ideal for gamers and professionals wanting a tear- and stuttering-free visual experience.

Samsung curved monitorsFreeSync is an AMD technology syncing display refresh rates with game or video content framerates, thus eliminating tearing effects caused by fixed monitor refresh rates or V-Sync-related stuttering. The technology was initially limited to monitors with DisplayPort connectivity, before AMD opened it to HDMI back in December 2015.

However taking advantage of FreeSync still requires a compatible AMD graphics card.

As for the actual monitors, the CF591 is a 27-inch model while the CF390 comes in either 23.5- or 27-inch sizes. Both feature curved 1080p panels with 4ms response time, 250nit brightness, 3000:1 contrast ratio, 178-degree viewing angles and a 1800mm curvature radius. The CF591 adds dual-5W speakers and DisplayPort 1.2, while the CF390 is HDMI-only.

The CF591 and CF390 monitors should hit European markets on March 2016.
