Customers demanding a compact laptop featuring more ports than a mere USB-C option? Vaio might have a solution with the SX12, a 12.5-inch number featuring no less than 7 different kinds of connector!

Vaio SX12

In total, the SX12 has x3 USB-A, x1 USB-C, x1 full-size HDMI, x1 ethernet and even a VGA(!) port, together with an SD card slot and 3.5mm headphone jack. Such an array of option should satisfy just about every customer, and just in case Vaio also promises slimmer display bezels and a full-pitch keyboard with larger keys stretching to the edge of the laptop.

The chassis is in carbon fibre and plastic, allowing for a machine weighing 897g. Inside are an 8th gen quad-core Intel Core i5 or i7 CPU with Vaio True Performance technology, up to 16GB LPDDR3 DRAM and up to 1TB SSD. Also included are a multi-touch trackpad with x2 buttons, fingerprint sensor, a battery Vaio claims powers up to 14 hours of use on a single charge, and an optional LTE module.

The SX12 is available now in Vaio's home Japan. The company gives no word of a European release, but the previous Vaio S11 and SX14 did make it to the West, so one can hope.
