Origin PC announces a pair of gaming laptops, both offering Intel Core i9 options for the latest in mobile PC hardware-- the lightweight EON15-S and the more powerful 17-inch EVO17-S.

EON15-S laptopThe EON15-S weighs just 1.5kg, making it lighter than a MacBook Pro. It features a 15.6-inch 1920 x 1080 resolution display and is based on the Intel Coffee Lake-H platform with a choice of either 6-core Corei7-8750H or Core i9-8950HK processors (overclocking optional). Graphics come through an Nvidia GeForce 1060 GPU with 6GB GDDR5 RAM, memory tops up at 32GB DDR4-2667 RAM and storage comes through up to two M.2/NVMe SSDs adding up to 4TB.

Further features include a "hybrid" mechanical keyboard with individually lit keys and a protective layer on the WASD and arrow keys, Intel Wireless-AC 9560 CNVi 802.11ac wifi, ethernet port, x3 USB-A ports, x1 USB-C port, x2 mini DisplayPort 1.3 ports, x1 HDMI output and 2-in-1 SD card reader. The battery promises up to 8 hours of use (at least under office workloads) on a single charge.

Meanwhile the EVO17-S is the bigger, more powerful laptop option. It carries an Intel Core i9-8950HK CPU with unlocked multiplier (making it ready for overclocking), together with Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 GB graphics, up to 32GB DDR4-2667 RAM, two M.2/NVMe SSDs and one 2.5-inch SSD/HDD. The 17.3-inch display comes in either 1920 x 1080 or 3840 x 2160 resolution, and supports Nvidia G-Sync.

Connectivity includes Intel Wireless-AC 9560 CNVi 802.11ac wifi, GbE port, x47 USB-A connectors, x1 USB-C header, 6-in-1 SD card reader, webcam, and x3 3.5-mm audio connectors. In all the laptop weighs 3kg, and is around 2.5cm thick.

The EON15-S and EVO17-S should be available from August 2018.
