Razer Presents Blade Pro Laptop

Razer announces the 2016 edition of the Blade Pro-- a 17-inch gaming laptop the company claims can push desktop-level performance despite a unibody CNC aluminium chassis all of 2.2cm deep.

To provide such performance the Blade Pro carries an Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 GPU armed with 8GB of GDDR5X VRAM, together with 32GB DDR4 RAM and up to 2TB of PCIe SSD storage. Meanwhile the display is multitouch-capable, and handles 3840 x 2160 resolution with 170-degree viewing angles and 100% Adobe RGB gamut.

Connectivity comes through x3 USB 3.0 ports, card reader and a Thunderbolt/USB-C jack, and a 99-watt-hour battery provides the necessary power. The cooling system is rather interesting, since it is described as "the world's thinnest manufactured vapour chamber cooling solution." The keyboard is also special, since it uses the same mechanical technology found in the Razer iPad Pro keyboard case, while the touchpad is an oversized number complete with clicky buttons and and a hardware scrollwheel.

Huawei to Build Nexus 7 Tablet Successor?

Leaker Evan Blass takes to Twitter to claim Google is working with Huawei on a 7-inch tablet-- a successor to the 2013's Nexus 7 featuring 4GB of RAM (there's only so much one can leak in 140 characters, after all).

Further details on the tablet are surprisingly scarce. Back in April Huawei reportedly got the trademark to the name "Huawei 7P," marking a possible clue to a device akin to the Nexus 6P, another Google device built by Huawei. Even earlier, in December 2015, Tech Times claimed Google was to launch a new Nexus 7 in May 2016 featuring "flagship specifications" and "drawing inspiration from the Pixel C tablet."

Lenovo Presents Yoga Book Tablet/Sketchbook Hybrid

The latest iteration of the Lenovo Yoga hybrid tablet concept is as curious as it gets-- the Lenovo Yoga Book might look like a laptop, but it replaces the physical keyboard with an oversized touch surface.

Described as a "2-in-1 tablet for productivity and creativity," the Yoga Book features a 10.1-inch 1920 x 1200 IPS touchscreen, and carries an Intel Atom X5 processor and a large 8500mAh battery. It comes in Windows 10 or Android (as modified with what Lenovo calls a "Book UI") versions, and is the thinnest Yoga device yet at 9.6mm closed.

However, the machine's most interesting feature remains, of course, the touch surface. Dubbed the "Create Pad," it is covered in rough, matte glass and comes complete with a Wacom stylus handling 2048 pressure levels and 100-degree angle detection. The result turns the Yoga Book into something akin to a Wacom digitiser tablet, if one with an attached display.
