Add More Power, Storage, Ports With Line Dock

E-mail Print PDF

Line DockMany USB-C dock solutions are available on the market, but Line Cooler's take is probably the biggest yet-- the Line Dock looks like the bottom half of a MacBook Pro, and packs a battery, storage and even active cooling.

The Line Dock carries a 20000mAh battery and supports Qi wireless charging, allowing users to simultaneously charge 4 compatible devices by simply laying them on top of it. It also carries an SSD (in 256GB, 512GB or 1TB sizes) to add more storage to laptops, while a built-in active cooling solution promises to keep devices at a temperature of around 11 degrees Celsius when in a 22 degree Celsius room.

On the port side, the dock features an extra USB-C port, three USB 3.0 ports (with Qualcomm Quick Charge support), an HDMI output, MiniDisplay Port and a SD card reader. It hooks up to laptops via either USB-C or Micro-B USB cable, and sticks to machines with four neodymium magnets.

The Line Dock is an Indiegogo project estimated to reach shipment stage by June 2017. It will be available in 12-, 13- and 15-inch versions fitting Apple MacBook and MacBook Pros, in matching space gray or silver colours.
