HP Spectre Claims Thinnest Laptop Title

HP sets to rival the MacBook Air is it announces what it claims is the thinnest laptop in the world at-- the Spectre, a laptop with a chassis 10.4mm thin (or as thick as as an-AAA battery, HP says).

HP SpectrePresented to the world at the New York Times International Luxury Conference in Versailles, the Specre features a 13.3-inch edge-to-edge IPS display and a carbon fibre bottom adding durability to the thin profile. Also allowing for the slim design is a hybrid battery split in 2 thinner pieces the company says provides 9 and a half power of use on a single charge.

Further technical details include a choice of 6th generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD storage and Bang & Olufsen stereo speakers. Connectivity comes through x3 USB Type-C ports (2 with Thunderbolt support) while Intel hyperbaric cooling keeps the laptop, well, cool.

"Unlike the majority of other super thin PCs on the market, this laptop doesn't compromise power or features," HP says. "A beautiful HD edge-to-edge display, Intel Core i processors coupled with Bang & Olufsen sound and a sexy and thin design, HP amazing engineers set a new standard with the all new Spectre."

The Spectre hits the market in multiple configurations from May 2016 in multiple configurations, including a limited number of special edition models featuring fancy materials such as 18-karat gold and Swarovski crystals. Would you expect less from a laptop unveiled at Versailles?
