The independent Vaio chooses a perhaps unusual operating system for its second smartphone-- Vaio Phone Biz is a sleek handset running on Microsoft-powered software, namely Windows 10 Mobile.
Featuring a style similar to the company's laptops, the Phone Biz is a 5.5-inch smartphone featuring a 1920x1080 resolution display, an octa-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm 617 CPU, 3GB RAM and a 13MP rear-facing camera. Also included is typical Microsoft software such as Office 365 and OneDrive.
Construction is in aluminium with a silver-finished the company says will last for multiple years-- a perhaps unusual claim, but the device is aimed for the Japanese market, where flip-phones are still a thing.
Will the Phone Biz find a home among the business class? The phone is available from April 2016 in Vaio's home Japan, but the company gives no word of a Western release as yet.
