China's Xiaomi takes to Twitter to announce a trio of product additions-- the Redmi Note 3 smartphone, the Mi Pad 2 tablet and one oddity, the Mi Air Purifier 2 "smart" air filter.

Redmi Note 3The Redmi Note 3 is similar to the previous model, being a mid-range Android handset with a 5.5-inch 1920x1080 resolution display. However it does feature a couple of Xiaomi firsts with a full metal body and a fingerprint sensor integrated with Mi Wallet, the company's take on mobile payment services.

Further spec details include an MTK Helio X10 processor (the same found in the Redmi Note 2), 2/3GB RAM, 16/32GB storage and a 4000mAh battery with fast charging promising to power the device to 50% capacity in 1 hour.

Mi Pad 2Meanwhile the Mi Pad 2 is an upgrade of the first Xiaomi tablet. It is a 7.9-inch device with a 2048x1536 resolution display powered by a 2.24GHz quad-core Intel Atom processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. The device also caters for future-proofing with the addition with a USB Type-C port.

Interestingly Xiaomi offers a choice of OS-- customers can either go for Android (modified with the MIUI 7 skin) or Windows 10, with the Microsoft-powered model featuring 64GB of storage.

The final Xiaomi product is the Mi Air Purifier 2, a smaller and lighter sequel to the first "smart" air purifier launched back in December 2014.
