The OnePlus 2 gets a lower-end sibling-- the OnePlus X, a lower-cost smartphone with high-end design features such as a glass back and a 5-inch 1920x1080 resolution AMOLED display.
The OnePlus X will actually be available in 2 versions, the Onyx (features the aforementioned glass back) and a ceramic version limited to just 10000 European customers. Like all other OnePlus devices actually buying the X involves online invites, a system the company says allows for tight inventory management.
On the specifications side the OnePlus X compares to 2014 flagship smartphones, with a Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB RAM, 162GB storage (expandable via microSD), 2525mAh battery, 13MP rear-facing camera and 8MP camera on the front. It also has 2 SIM card slots, as well as an alert slider allowing users to switch between 3 notification profiles without need to switch the phone display on.
Charging takes place through regular micro-USB while the OS of choice is OxygenOS, the OnePlus take on Android.
The OnePlus X should hit European markets from November 2015, if in aforementioned invite form.
