WD Updates My Cloud Storage

WD announces "significant enhancements" to the My Cloud storage family at IFA 2015, including the dual-drive My Cloud Mirror complete with more memory and faster processing and a redesigned My Cloud OS 3.

My Cloud MirrorThe My Cloud Mirror personal cloud device features 2 HDDs set to Mirror Mode (RAID 1). It stores data on one drive and automatically duplicates it to the second, and features an improved processor and 1GB RAM for faster file transfers and app support.

Meanwhile My Cloud OS 3 features 2 main additions-- MyCloud.com (a browser-based means for file collaboration, access management and photo/video gallery viewing) and My Cloud Albums (an app allowing users to send a link to common location or "album" on the My Cloud).

In addition a WD Sync feature syncs data across multiple PCs, notebooks, smartphones and tablets. It also supports Chromebooks and Chromecast devices, and provide automatic camera-roll backup on mobile devices.

The new My Cloud devices and apps are available now.
